Lake Monstrosities is currently the largest social media collection for aquatic mysteries & information on Facebook, in the form of posted articles from sources worldwide, originally founded in 2014 by Kevin & Jenn Malek, & Jeff Stenz. We had noticed during a weekly NWPS meeting late in the spring of 2014 that there were no Facebook group pages dedicated to lake & river monsters. We couldn't believe it. We found a couple like pages, but no group pages. So we thought we could do an excellent job of creating a group page which would not only cover those aquatic mysteries, but any & all kinds of aquatic mysteries or wonders. We also thought that between our combined effort, we had the collective experience in the fields needed to administrate such a group. So we started Lake Monstrosities, & the rest is history.

Jeff is not only a Paranormal Investigator, but also a well known Fishing Guide & Pro Angler, so he has the years of experience on the water added with the knowledge of what's in the water, including all those river monsters.   Although Jeff now lives in southern Wisconsin, he is still involved in the NWPS, especially with Lake Monstrosities. Jenn & Kevin have an interest in aquatic cryptozoology, from mermaids & megaladon to Ogopogo & the Lochness Monster (& everything in between). As paranormal investigators, they are also into other aquatic mysteries like the Bermuda Triangle, ghost ships, haunted lighthouses, etc... so naturally they wanted to include supernatural mysteries to the mix. Plus as a ufologist, Kevin also is familiar with the U.S.O. (unidentified submersible object) phenomenon. So what we ended up with was an amazing group page which turned out to be a hit. The following year John Kieffer joined the administration staff. Not only is John a fishing guide, he also has a passion for aquatic mysteries. Although John now lives in southern Wisconsin, he grew up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin & knows the area well. Of course any time cryptozoology or guiding is involved within the NWPS, resident cryptozoologist Don Young is also involved. & one of our Tech Managers Rick Eby is also a long time fishing guide. Having 4 fishing guides in one paranormal group is definitely not common. So naturally the NWPS crew was equipt & up for this unique challenge.

These are the NWPS core & extended members who are involved in Lake Monstrosities. Since Lake Monstrosities is a national affiliate created by the NWPS, we also wanted to include a national effort of other qualified individuals who know these topics well. What we ended up with was an amazing group administrated by some of the top folks in these areas. First to join was the administration staff from outside Wisconsin was the founder of the very scientific Zombie Plesiosaur Society; Cryptozoologist Scott Mardis. Also to join us over time was founder of Anomalous Universe; Fortean Researcher Steve Patrick Carrington, & also from Anomalous Universe; Fortean Researcher Ty Ward, founder of Champ Search; Cryptozoologist Katy Elizabeth, & Graphic Artist for Paraversal Universe; Fortean Researcher Lawrence DeMeza. These members, along with the NWPS members, make up one fantastic administration group dedicated to all the mysteries covered in Lake Monstrosities. Thank you all for all for your amazing dedication to the unknown & unexplained, & providing your knowledge & insight to the group. Today there are over 1600+ people & growing who belong & post articles, lectures, or videos to the forum known as Lake Monstrosities. We also would like to thank those who post to Lake Monstrosities on a consistent basis, as well as those who may only share or visit once in a while. If one is looking for an endless amount of info on any of the aquatic topics covered within, this is definitely a good choice. The group averages around 20 posts per day, all vetted by the entire collective where all known dis info is rejected, & all from various folks worldwide who belong to the group.
